Phase 5 : Systems Implementation

Hello buddy,,,
The fifth phase of the systems life cycle is systems implementation or conversion.
There are four types of conversion approaches.

1.       Direct approach

Abandon the old which is very risky and not recommended

2.       Parallel approach

Run old and new side by side, very low risk, however, very expensive and not generally recommended

3.       Pilot approach

Convert part of organization first and less expensive but riskier than parallel conversion which is recommended for situation with many people performing similar operations

4.       Phased approach

Implement gradually which is less risky but more expensive than parallel conversion; recommended for situations with many people performing different operations

Lastly is training should be implemented.

The initial training classes for users are held, and training materials are delivered at the classes. Some help desk personnel should attend the initial user training class. More training classes can be scheduled later, as new personnel start using the application. Training is done on the user acceptance test system, accessing the test database or a special training database
